April 16

Good morning.

Today the students start off there day with having there circle time. During this time, the students will go over there sight words, days of the week, new sounds and months of the year. Today, the students learn the new sound "er." First, they came up with words that also have that same sound. Next, we watched a short video on our words that also make that sound. After, the students wrote there words of the week four times each. They are doing this again because I have changed my mind on giving them a different list of words of the week.
Moving onto our math time, we are in a new unit for math! We are learning about measurement. Today, the students went over some new vocabulary words. Next, then students worked in there math books (pages 184). We worked on the pages as a class. After checking over everyone answers, the students were asked to look around the room to try to match up and measure the same size as the cubes that I have given them. They all did a great good.
Moving onto there UOI time, we are also in a new unit as well. We are learning about the season Spring. We review what they already know about spring. Then we worked on a worksheet where the students need to cut and paste all of the different things that belong in the spring garden. Lastly, we practiced our spring song.
