March 29

Good Morning,

CONGRATS to Hailey for getting the Caring Award this morning. We are all so proud of her.


The students start off there day be reading the morning message, they will also learn about the months of the year, days of the week, weather and count to the 100th day of school. .The students will review the sound, action and song for the blend "air." Today in phonics, the students were placed in there reading groups were they were able to make a poster of there choice. While they were working together in there groups I called one student at a time to read over there reading words in there reading book.
Moving onto our math, the students will learn about the worth of money. Students will review on what they learned about quarters. They will also complete a work sheet called "Count Money." Lastly, we played a game where the students needed to show me how many quarters they need to make that price. 
Moving onto our UOI, the students will understand how a life guard helps in the community. Students will watch a video on a Life guard. " I want to become a life guard."Towards the end of the lesson,   the students work on an art project making a life guard. 
At the end of the day the students enjoyed there french class and music class. 
Reminders: 
Last day to bring in your flied trip money is Tuesday. 
Spelling bee is April 8th 
Summaative project are due April 11th 
Report cards are going home today.  The UOI graphs will be handed out on Monday. So sorry for the delay.

March 28

Good Morning,


Students will read the morning message during our circle time. Students will also learn about the months of the year, days of the week, seasons and the weather. Students will review the blend "ure." They will also brain storm words that have the same sound as "ure." During our phonics time the students and I worked on a phonics worksheet. We are working on our blends. After we were done with our worksheet the kids were asked find a reading buddy and read.


Moving onto our math: the students will learn about the worth of money. Today the students will learn about the worth of quarters. Students will complete "Quarters" work sheet. Towards the end we played a game so the kids will be able to identify between pennies, nickles, dimes and quarters. 
Moving onto the UOI: the students will understand how a construction worker helps in the community. Students will brain storm ideas about a construction worker. They will also watch a short video about becoming a construction worker. Towards the end, the students worked together to complete a construction worker puzzle. They did a great job with Team Work! 
Towards the end of the day the students had there french class and we completed another journal entry. Our journal entry for today was  "I like my school because....."

Spring fundraiser starts now! Please bring in your money if you wish to have your kid participate in the upcoming events. Field trip is coming up, it is on April 10th the last day to bring in money will be next Tuesday. The summative project for our UOI project is due Thursday April 11th-12th. Spelling bee is also coming up. This will be April 8th. 
Lastly, please complete the "pick a time" online. This Teacher/parent meeting will be on April 4th. Looking forward on seeing everyone.

March 27

Good morning!

Students will read the morning message, students will learn about the months of the year, days of the week, season, weather and listen to a story. Today the students will learn the blend "ure." Students will brain storm words that have the same sound. Students will watch  a video exampling more words that have the same sound as "ure."
Today we completed our 10 page paper. This paper will be found on the kids report cards. 
Moving onto our math: students will be learning about the worth of money. Today, we did a review on dimes, pennies and nickles. I made 3 groups where each student was placed in there own centre. 
Moving onto our UOI time: students will understand how a veterinarian helps in the community. Students will watch a video about becoming a veterinarian. The students will also complete a work sheet. Towards the end the students role played out the role of veterinarian. 


Towards the end the students had there french lesson and music lesson.

Casual day is tomorrow. 
Spring fundraiser starts now! Please bring in your money if you wish to have your child participate in the field trip. The cost for the trip is 40$. Also, if your child  wants  to participate in any of the upcoming events  in school please bring in the money for that  events as well. 
The summative project for our UOI "We're all in this together" this project is due Thursday April 11th and 12th. Spelling bee will be Monday April 8th for the Jk-3.

March 26

Good Morning,

The students start off there day with having circle time. Students will read the morning message, they will also learn about the months of the year, days of the week,seasons and weather. Today, the students reviewed words that have the sound "air." They watched a short video telling them more words that have the same "air" sound. After our morning meeting, we were excited  to have a surprise  guest from our community helper. Today's community helper is the librarian. The librarian came in and explained what her job was.


Moving on to our phonics, our time was cut short due to our visit from the librarian. The students worked in there centres. The first centre included the reading centre with me. The reading groups are now working on there new book. The next centre included play dough. Students were asked to form our 'Words of the Week" with play dough.

Moving on to our math time, students will be learning about the worth of money. Today the students learned about dimes and it's worth. The students completed a "Dime" worksheet as a class. Lastly, we did  a quick activity counting pennies, nickels and dimes.

Moving on to our UOI time, the students will understand how a librarian helps in the community. After reviewing information about a librarian, the students were asked to write a sentences about the what they learned from the librarian. Lastly, the students worked on an art sheet by making book marks. 


Towards the end of the day the students had there french lesson and worked on a new journal entry.

Spring Fundraiser Starts NOW!!! Please send in money for your child to go on the flied trip on April 10th. Also, please bring money for your child if you wish that they participated in the upcoming events in school.

March 25

Good Morning and welcome back!
I hope everyone had a great and safe March Break.

I am excited to see all of the kids again.
We start off our morning with circle time, during circle time the students will learn about the months of the year, days of the week, seasons, weather and listen to a  story. Today the students will be introduced to the blend "air". They will brainstorm words that have the same "air" sound using a mind map on the white board. Students also will watch a video on more words with the sound "air."

Today, we did not break into centres, we did a "whole group  learning". During whole group the students and I will complete a  phonics worksheet together as a class. Today, we worked on a worksheet called "Words with "ub." after the students completed this, they were asked to work in there phonics notebooks and write the sound "air."

Before I move onto our math time, I read a story called "The Dentist" by Mike Thaler 

Moving onto math: students will continue reviewing the worth of money. Students will be reviewing pennies and nickles. After our review the students will work on a worksheet called "counting pennies" and "nickles."

Moving onto our UOI time, students will be learning about a new Community Helper. Today's community helper is a sanitation worker. Students will watch a video called "Let's Go to Work Garbageman" Students will complete a sanitation worker work sheet. Students will also learn about the importance of recycling by completing a work sheet. 
The students end off there day by having French class and music class.

The Summative Project for our UOI are due Thursday April 11th and April 12th. We will be starting this project as a class on April 4th and 5th. 

 Also, please have your child listen to the song called "Consider yourself" This song is found on YouTube. You can locate in on YouTube by typing in "Oliver! 1968 Movie Clip Consider Yourself."  This song will be used in our Spring Play. Please have your child go over the lyrics.

March 8

Good Morning!  We finally made it to Friday!

Happy St Patrick Day! The students were allowed to wear Green to celebrate  this holiday.

We started off our day with having circle time. Circle time is when the students and I go over our sight words, new sounds for the week, calendar and many more.
Next we move on to our centers, our first center is the reading center. 
The next center, the students are working on a  puzzle game where they need to find the missing piece to try and make the word. 
The last center is Lego and blocks center. 
Moving onto math time, we are reviewing our pennies and nickels  this afternoon. The students seem to understand the  value of these two coins so we did a short review and next we worked on our journals for the spear time. 
Moving onto our UOI, we are still reviewing  our community  helper. We have learned a total of 10 community helpers so far. Today, we worked on a worksheet focusing  on  "what your dream job will be." The students took there time on this art work sheet. 

The students end off their day by having their french class. Towards the last hour of the day, we had a short activity with the school in the gym. 

I hope everyone has a great and safe March break. In everyone homework bag is the kids spelling list and also a letter about the Spelling Bee that is coming up soon.  I hope to see all of you back on Monday March 25th. Thank you once again for all of the positive love and feedback!
